Addicks launch Sankofa appeal

Charlton Athletic have launched an appeal against Osei Sankofa's red card in Tuesday's 4-0 defeat at Arsenal.
The 21-year-old, who was making only his eighth start for the club, was dismissed in the first half for a foul on Robin van Persie and is set to serve a one-match ban, ruling him out of this weekend's FA Cup third round clash against Nottingham Forest.
The Addicks insist that Sankofa was not the last man when he committed the foul, with boss Alan Pardew saying after the match: "The decision against us was a triple whammy. One, he should have been given offside, two yards offside by the way.
"Secondly, he didn't pull him back too hard and the player went down quite dramatically, and then Osei getting sent off as well, that was a big blow for the team."
