Addicks extend Soares stay

Stoke City winger Tom Soares has extended his loan spell at Charlton Athletic by a further month.

The 22-year-old, who has found the net once in five starts for the Addicks during his first month at The Valley, will now remain with Phil Parkinson's side until March 21.

Parkinson had said earlier this week: "We'd like to keep Tom so it's something I'll have to discuss with the chairman.

"Tom would like to stay. He was lacking match practice when he came here but as the games have gone on he's got better and better and we're pleased with his contribution."
