The 28-year-old's contract expires at the end of the season and the Addicks will not be renewing it due to financial constraints. In an interview with Sina.com, assistant coach Mark Kinsella admitted Charlton have little choice but to let Zheng go. "Zizi's contract ends at the end of this season, so I am expecting him to leave," he said. "He is a quality player and we were never the same after he got injured. Had he been fit, we would probably be higher up on the table now. West Brom have been linked with the versatile midfielder, and Preston boss Alan Irvine recently told the Chinese media Zheng would make a "good signing."
