Youga blow for Charlton

Injury-jinxed Charlton defender Kelly Youga has been ruled out for the rest of the season. The luckless left-back was thought to be on the verge of a comeback from the cruciate ligament injury which has sidelined him since last November. However, Youga has now been disagnosed with a chondral defect in his knee and had an operation on Wednesday. "It's bad news for Kelly and it's bad news for the club," admitted Addicks boss Phil Parkinson. "After being out for so long with the original problem he worked hard to try and make a comeback, but the knee still wasn't right and it was then discovered he had this chondral defect. "He had the operation on Wednesday, so we've lost him for the season. All we can do now is move on with what we've got."
