Wright-Phillips wrong for Reading

Charlton new-boy Bradley Wright-Phillips has revealed how a knee injury scuppered a January move to Reading. The striker joined the Addicks last week from Plymouth and scored a superb winner on his debut in Tuesday night's 1-0 success over Colchester. But he could have been plying his trade elsewhere had he not been carrying a slight niggle. "I failed a medical at Reading because they just didn't want to take a risk," he said. "After that I heard from Charlton and some other clubs, including from the Championship, but I couldn't really turn Charlton down. "I feel good and my knee feels good. I think I'm going to need a few more games, but I should be all right."
