We battled well - Parkinson

Charlton manager Phil Parkinson was pleased with his side's ability to grind out a result on the back of two successive league defeats. Joe Anyinsah pounced in the 85th minute to clinch all three points, although Notts County had chances to take something from the game and even missed a penalty at 0-0. Parkinson said: "We came into the game on the back of two defeats in the league, which is the first time since March 2009 we've lost two games. "We had to scrap out a result. We had some good periods of play, although we rode our luck with the penalty miss and one or two other moments. Sometimes you've just got to grind out a result and that`s what we did." Parkinson also had words of praise for goalkeeper Rob Elliot following his penalty save from Lee Hughes in the 46th minute and goalscorer Anyinsah. He added: "I thought Robbie Elliot was terrific. We said to him about putting in a solid performance rather than a spectacular one but when he was called upon with the penalty he produced a very good save. There aren't many better strikers in this league than Lee Hughes and you would fancy him in those situations, but credit to Robbie."
