Ward not giving up on survival

The 30-year-old has featured 10 times - two wins, four draws and four losses - since moving to The Valley until the end of the season from parent club and league leaders Wolves, but Charlton remain rock bottom, 11 points from safety. "I've played in about 10 games now, and it might be hard to believe but we could have or should have won every match - sometimes it's just down to the rub of the green," Ward told the Kent Messenger. "Without a doubt we have to win every game from now on - everyone knows that - and then hope other results go our way as well. It's a tall order, but stranger things have happened in football. The frustrating thing is that everyone can see there is a good enough squad to stay up." Ward believes the Addicks can make a quick return to the Football League's top tier if they fall into League One, but he is not yet ready to consider that scenario. "I believe Charlton could definitely come straight back up if the club was relegated, but let's wait and see if it actually comes to that at the end of the season," he added.
