Addicks and Rovers share spoils

Runaway npower League One leaders Charlton came from behind to claim a 1-1 draw at Prenton Park as they stretched their unbeaten run to seven matches and left Tranmere winless in nine.

Tranmere's Ryan Brunt brought two smart saves from visiting goalkeeper Ben Hamer in the 15th minute and Yann Kermorgant tested Owain Fon Williams with a 25-yard effort at the other end.

Tranmere went ahead after 33 minutes when a speculative angled overhead shot by Martin Devaney was touched on by Brunt and beyond Hamer into the far corner.

It needed a fine reaction save from Williams to turn over a close range header by Danny Hollands seven minutes into the second period, but the Charlton equaliser came with an hour gone as Michael Morrison headed home Dale Stephens' corner via the crossbar.

Tranmere almost regained the lead five minutes later but an Adam McGurk free-kick was turned onto the post by Hamer, who saved again 12 minutes later from the same player.
