Southend United vs Charlton Athletic PREVIEW

09 November 2010 13:46
The Addicks make the short journey to Essex as they look to reach the Southern Semi Finals of the JPT With miserable weather in SE7 right now and rain predicted in Southend tonight it’s safe to assume that there will be little glamour in tonight’s quarter final tie. While the Addicks have seen an improvement in recent weeks, the Shrimpers have had an inconsistent start to their League Two season which currently sees them sit in 16th place. That said, in the JPT so far Southend have recorded a victory (via penalties) over Gillingham and a 3-1 victory away to Barnet in the last round, compared to the Addicks who have overcome both Dagenham and Redbridge and MK Dons so far. Phil Parkinson’s men haven’t been defeated in four games (since Brighton) and will be looking to continue their impressive run, and with JPT rules stating that 6 of the 11 most used players must play, a rather strong side is predicted. It’s also worth noting that tonight’s fixture will be decided tonight, with the game being taken to penalties if the score is tied at the end of 90 minutes. With this in mind, my prediction for tonight’s team is: GK: Rob Elliot RB: Simon Francis CB: Jonathan Fortune CB: Christian Dailly © LB: Matt Fry RM: Scott Wagstaff CM: Jose Semedo CM: Therry Racon LM: Johnnie Jackson CF: Paul Benson CF: Joe Anyinsah   SUBS: Ross Worner, Miguel Llera, Kyel Reid, Lee Martin, Alan McCormack, Pawel Abbott, Akpo Sodje   COME ON YOU ADDICKS!!!!!!!
