The 24-year-old midfielder was in the second month of his stay with the Mariners and was scheduled to return to The Valley after their game with Lincoln on Saturday. However, the injury has forced him to make the trip back to south London earlier than planned. Grimsby assistant manager Stuart Watkiss said: "Dean has had a bit of an ongoing problem. I think we are at the stage now where he's got to do the right thing by himself. I don't think he's doing himself justice playing when clearly unfit. "He's gone back down south for a few days to let the Charlton medical staff have a look. At the end of the day, it is the right thing to do - he's still a Charlton player. "Then we'll just have to see how it settles down in the coming days. We all know that a fit Dean Sinclair strengthens the team."
