Powell takes it on chin
Charlton manager Chris Powell had no complaints with referee Oliver Langford's part in Huddersfield's winner as the Addicks went down 1-0.
The game appeared to be heading for a goalless draw until Huddersfield were awarded a free-kick 30-yards from goal with seven minutes remaining. Joey Gudjonsson's initial free-kick was handled by Kyel Reid, prompting Langford to move it forward 10-yards and this time the Iceland international drilled a stunning shot past the wall and into the net.
Powell said: "But I suppose it is indicative of our luck and where they are at that we have more chances, we don't take them and seven or eight minutes from the end they get a re-taken free-kick.
"It was the correct decision because it looks like our player (Reid) wants to be in goal the way he handled it.
"Gudjonsson over the years has got a fantastic strike on him and I've known that when he has played for Leicester, Villa and Burnley.
"He took his chance and I suppose that is where we are at and where they are at at the present time."
