Powell still holds play-off hope

Charlton boss Chris Powell refused to give up on a place in the play-offs despite the 2-0 defeat to MK Dons. Goals from Dan Powell and Sam Baldock gave the Dons all three points, and things went from bad to worse for the Addicks as Paul Benson was sent off in the last minute. He said: "I think our first-half performance was very good - it was a lot better than in recent games. "You are always going to come under pressure and we handled that quite well, but of course goals change games, and then we are chasing after conceding the first goal. "It was a difficult night in the end because we came here to get a result and we haven't got it. It was about us trying to claw back the points deficit but obviously that's been extended now. "We need a big haul in character and confidence in the next few games now. I've had 10 games in charge now and I've had ups but a few more downs - we need to improve because if we don't our dreams of doing anything will fade away."
