Powell biding time on number two

Charlton manager Chris Powell is on the look-out for an assistant but will not rush into an appointment. Powell, who replaced Phil Parkinson at The Valley last week, was assisted by club legend Keith Peacock, development coach Damian Matthew and new goalkeeping coach Ben Roberts for Saturday's 2-0 win over Plymouth. "I'm hoping to get someone in but there is no rush," he said. "The people we've got here, Damian, Keith and Ben Roberts have been immense over the past week and I'm very happy with those guys. But obviously if we can get someone who's going to add to our coaching team and enhance it, then that would be great for us. "I've spoken to three or four different people and I still feel I've got to speak to one or two more and then have a quiet moment to decide who it's going to be." Powell has confirmed he wants former Chelsea midfielder Matthew to stay in the new set-up.
