Parky praises Addicks

Phil Parkinson reserved special praise for Charlton`s stout defensive display as their attacking quality stole the headlines in a stunning 5-1 victory at promotion rivals Peterborough. The Addicks breezed into a four-goal lead by half-time at London Road and despite Grant McCann pulling one back for Posh, it proved mere consolation as Lee Martin grabbed his second of the afternoon. "It is only natural the goalscorers and attacking players will take all the plaudits after scoring five times away from home," said boss Parkinson. "But I thought our central defensive duo of Gary Doherty and Christian Dailly were absolutely terrific up against two very good Peterborough strikers." He added: "I left it to the lads to do their own team-talk at half-time. They knew they had to keep being professional and look to create more chances, which is exactly what they did."
