Parky pleased to be top of the pile

The Addicks manager used his half-time team-talk to galvanise his men with the scores level at 1-1 and insisted they needed little more inspiration than the thought of overtaking Leeds, who play Norwich on Monday. "It was a case of saying 'if we win here then we go top of the league'. What better incentive do we need than that, to pick up the papers on Sunday morning and see ourselves at the top of the table?" said the Addicks boss. "It's a fantastic feeling. We are now a quarter of the season through and to have maintained our form over 13 games is great for everybody. It's important to enjoy that feeling. "It was a real end-to-end game and they got their goal. The lads came in a bit flat. We had to change a few things, push the back four up a bit. I thought we really drove on in the second half and deserved the victory."
