Charlton manager Phil Parkinson was highly critical of his side`s performance in their 1-0 defeat to Walsall.
The Addicks missed the chance to move second in the league after Matty Richards` second-half goal gave the struggling Saddlers all three points.
"It was a terrible performance from us. I can't hide away from that and it is a performance I'm finding difficult to explain because it wasn't three or four players who had an off day, everybody had an off day.
"You can't really say anybody played well and when that happens normally there is an underlying reason.
"What that reason is, we are going to have to sit down and search for it because that was a disappointing performance.
"Apologies to our supporters because it was a poor performance and we haven't given them too many of those in recent weeks but today was not a good one."
