Parkinson to give youth a chance

Parkinson has added 17-year-old Tamer Tuna to his squad for Saturday's home clash with Birmingham after the striker scored twice for the reserves in midweek. And fellow rookies Scott Wagstaff and Chris Solly are also close to breaking into Parkinson's first-team squad. "If youngsters do play well for the reserves, they can see there is a pathway to the full squad and it gives them a lift," said Parkinson. "It's important someone gets rewarded if they do well. Whether Tamer is on the bench or not, just to be around the first team will be good for him. "Scott Wagstaff has come back into form in recent weeks and Chris Solly is close to getting an opportunity as he's been exceptional for the reserves. Out of all the young players, he's probably been the unluckiest not to get a game or at least be on the bench."
