Parkinson sympathises with fans

Charlton manager Phil Parkinson felt his side had gifted Brighton their goals in a 4-0 home defeat. Inigo Calderon opened the scoring in the first half for Brighton and second-half strikes from Glenn Murray, Kazenga LuaLua and Matt Sparrow consigned the Addicks to a heavy defeat, their first at home in the league this season. Parkinson said: "In the first half Brighton had a lot of possession, but on chances it was even. I thought we were the masters of our own downfall with the goals we gave away. "Brighton did pass the ball well, but really if you look at their goals, two of them were from set-plays, one of them where we've given the ball away on the edge of our own box. "We can't concede sloppy goals like that and expect to get anything from the game. "Fans booed at the end and you can't blame them. Supporters in any country in any match around the world this week if their team gets beat, they're going to respond like that and I can't blame them."
