Inigo Calderon and Elliott Bennett had put the Seagulls 2-0 up before Akpo Sodje grabbed a late consolation for the Londoners.[LNB]Parkinson said: "It was a disappointing night for us. I thought it was a very open game in the first half.[LNB]"Obviously we conceded the goal, but we didn't get frantic and we tried to play on a very difficult surface. But when we did have our chances, we didn't make the keeper work. Football is about being the best team in both boxes, and probably our desire to get on the end of things wasn't as good as we would have liked."[LNB]Having got back to winning ways with a victory over Yeovil on Saturday, Charlton have once again lost ground on leaders Norwich and Leeds.[LNB]"We were on a high after Saturday," Parkinson added. "We felt it was a performance back to the levels we have produced. We've taken a step back and now I've got to get the boys back up for a big local derby type of game with a good atmosphere and a high-tempo game there (at Southend)."[LNB][LNB]
