Parkinson extends Addicks deal

The 41-year-old former Colchester and Hull boss took over from Alan Pardew in November last year, initially as caretaker, but could not prevent the Addicks' relegation from the Championship.[LNB]However, Charlton's fine start to life in League One - they have lost just one game so far and are four points behind leaders Leeds United - has clearly impressed the hierarchy at The Valley who have tied Parkinson to the club until the end of next season.[LNB]Parkinson said: "It's good news, and I suppose it can be taken as a sign that the club is progressing, but above all else I'm concentrating on continuing our good start to the season.[LNB]"I'm ambitious and driven to keep improving things at the club. We've done well so far, but we want to keep driving forward."[LNB][LNB]
