Parkinson explains Esajas exit

Former Sheffield Wednesday winger Etienne Esajas has failed to earn a deal with Charlton. The 25-year-old has been on trial at The Valley following his release from the Owls, playing in the Addicks' opening friendly against AFC Wimbledon. Esajas was keen to find out what his future holds, resulting in boss Phil Parkinson to opt against offering terms. "Etienne wanted a decision from us quickly and I didn't think he had done enough to warrant the type of contract he was looking for at this stage," Parkinson told the South London Press. "I have no doubts he will go on to find a good club but it just wasn't right for us at this point."
