The 17-year-old scored his first goal of the League One campaign to cancel out Tamika Mkandawire's 27th-minute opener on Tuesday night, and Deon Burton clinched Charlton's third win on the trot with six minutes remaining at Brisbane Road. Parkinson said: "Shelvey's performance revived the team's performance. In the first half, he was charging around and could have got sent off. "In the second half, he relaxed and did what he does well, he gives us quality on the ball and also has great running power from that position. "I cannot praise the boys enough because football is all about overcoming setbacks and we had one here. We came in at half-time 1-0 down and there are times when we have to re-group, assess what we have done and improve in the second half. That is what we have done." Parkinson dismissed the possibility of Shelvey being sold during the transfer window, adding: "He loves playing for Charlton and we want to keep him."
