Charlton Athletic striker Izale McLeod will have talks next week with Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo over a possible loan spell with the Edinburgh club.McLeod was a target for Hearts in the summer, but Laszlo was unable to persuade the club's owner, Vladimir Romanov, to sign him. [LNB]Laszlo said: "He is a striker who can score goals and scoring is a problem that we have been having all season." [LNB]McLeod was due in Edinburgh this week, but freezing weather delayed his trial. [LNB]Laszlo has been desperate to sign a new striker since the summer and was left frustrated when Romanov rejected his suggested signing targets as not good enough for the club.[LNB] It's a good club and I told him to go and have a look before you commit yourself Players' agent Tony Finnigan But Hearts have now revived their interest in former England Under-21 international McLeod. [LNB]"At the moment, I think everybody knows that I am very interested in a player who will next week be here and I hope we can have an agreement between the clubs to take him on loan," said Laszlo. [LNB]"Next week, Monday, the guy is here and he has also the interest to come to us; we have also the interest from me to meet the guy. [LNB]"I've seen the player a few times and now is the possibility to meet him personally and get him in training and he accepted this. [LNB]"Now I would like to test him. For me, it's very important that now a lot of players have an interest in coming to this club and to work with us. [LNB]"This guy has international experience. He played for England Under-21s. He is a scorer - and he has a Scottish name!"[LNB]McLeod has been mainly used as a substitute at CharltonMcLeod's agent, Tony Finnigan, said that negotiations had broken down in the summer between Charlton and Hearts director Sergi Fedotovas. [LNB]"In the last transfer window, I spoke to Sergi Fedotovas, but they could not agree a price," said Finnigan. [LNB]"That was just left, but they have chased it up again and they are talking about a loan with a possible review. [LNB]"I am just waiting for him to give me a call to decide. [LNB]"I have lived in Edinburgh so I know what it's like. It's a nice city and I know they have the derby there between Hearts and Hibs. [LNB]"It's a good club and I told him to go and have a look before you commit yourself as before he would have just gone up there without thinking." [LNB]Finnigan thinks McLeod's move should be straightforward should the Hearts manager like what he sees when the player trains with Hearts. [LNB]"The talking is pretty much standard because when you are on loan you just take over the contract and he is not on massive wages, so that side of it will be okay," added the agent.[LNB] MY SPORT: DEBATE Give your thoughts on McLeod's possible move McLeod joined Charlton in 2007, when they were in the Championship, for £1.1m from League Two outfit MK Dons, having previously been with Derby County and Sheffield United. [LNB]He was on loan to Millwall last season but has made 14 appearances this season for their London rivals, who are now in League One, although he has been used mainly as a substitute. [LNB]McLeod scored 60 times in 134 games for MK Dons, but his strike rate has slowed since joining Charlton, for whom he has hit the target four times in 39 appearances. [LNB]He did not score in two substitute appearances on loan to Colchester United and scored twice in eight games for Millwall.
