Hearts are hoping to bring Charlton Athletic striker Izale McLeod in on loan in January.

Tynecastle manager Csaba Laszlo has revealed his interest in signing the former England Under-21 international.

McLeod has started just three League One games for the Addicks this season.

"He is a striker who can score goals and scoring is a problem that we have been having all season," explained Laszlo.

"At the moment, I think everybody knows that I am very interested in a player who will next week be here and I hope we can have an agreement between the clubs to take him on loan.

"I've seen the player a few times and now is the possibility to meet him personally and get him in training and he accepted this.

"This guy has international experience. He played for England Under-21s. He is a scorer - and he has a Scottish name!"
