Dailly 'turned down' Champ offers

The former Blackburn, West Ham and Rangers centre-back, 35, signed a one-year deal at The Valley last week having shone while on trial with the London outfit. And Dailly has immediately set his sights on promotion after rejecting the chance to play in the second tier with other clubs. He told Charlton's official website: "There were a few offers from teams in the Championship but it would have meant quite a bit of travelling and that's something I wasn't too keen to do. "I'd been travelling up from London - where my family is based - during my time at Rangers and I was keen to play a bit closer to home, so Charlton was perfect really. "This is a really big club and I see it as a challenge. This club is geared to be in a higher division than League One so the aim is to get back up to the Championship and beyond."
