Substitute Steven Thompson was the two-goal hero for Coyle's side who won for the first time in the league since December 21.[LNB]Relegation-haunted Charlton had taken the lead against the run of play five minutes before half-time when Chris Dickson's cross was turned in by Nicky Bailey.[LNB]The introduction of Thompson after 62 minutes for winger Chris Eagles was to prove the turning point in the game.[LNB]Thompson's first goal arrived 14 minutes from time when he converted a knock-down from winger Wade Elliott.[LNB]Thompson's winning goal arrived in the 95th minute as Charlton were made to pay for their blatant time-wasting tactics.[LNB]Burnley should have secured all three points much earlier, but found Charlton goalkeeper Rob Elliott in good form while veteran full-back Graeme Murty twice cleared off the line from Burnley skipper Steven Caldwell.[LNB]Burnley again proved that they are a team full of energy and desire and show a willingness to keep going until the final whistle notwithstanding the fact that this was already their 40th game of the season.[LNB]Coyle said: "The courage and bravery the players showed was tremendous.[LNB]"There was real bravery in their performance. We have the courage of our convictions.[LNB]"It was important to win today, we have played 40 games and are just two points away from the play-offs.[LNB]"It would have been easy to hide at 1-0 down but my players don't know when they are beaten.[LNB]"We have great spirit at this football club. Tommo made a big impact and I delighted for him at a personal level."[LNB]Charlton boss Phil Parkinson was left to reflect on what might have been.[LNB]He said: "To put in the performance we did and get nothing is a blow. Six minutes of stoppage time was a joke. The referee got sucked in by the home supporters.[LNB]"I expected four minutes and it's cost us.[LNB]"We came under pressure in the second half, but we had two moments where we didn't work hard enough to stop the ball coming into the box.[LNB]"Whilst we showed resilience and commitment, that has to go right down to the wire."[LNB][LNB]
