Addicks' worries easing

Charlton's injury list is clearing up ahead of the visit of Sheffield Wednesday in the npower Championship.

Left-back Rhoys Wiggins was on the bench for last weekend's win at Blackburn after four months out with a metatarsal injury.

Defender Leon Cort and forward Danny Haynes are also close to fitness after hamstring problems and could be involved.

And even veteran midfielder Andy Hughes has resumed training after a long-term Achilles injury, although he is not ready for the first team yet.

Boss Chris Powell has no new injury worries and could stick with the side which has won back-to-back games against Blackpool and Blackburn.

Teenage winger Callum Harriott came on as a substitute in both matches and should be on the bench again.

Sheffield Wednesday will be without on-loan pair Jeremy Helan and Mamady Sidibe.

French midfielder Helan and striker Sidibe have returned to parent clubs Manchester City and Stoke respectively after last week's goalless draw with Wolves.

But midfielder Rhys McCabe, who missed out last week through illness, could return to contention.

Manager Dave Jones could give late fitness tests to several unnamed players who are carrying niggles, but has no major new injury or suspension headaches.

Midfielder Jose Semedo is hoping to feature as he was an unused substitute last week, while striker Gary Madine, plus defenders Martin Taylor and Joe Mattock are also pushing for recalls as the Owls look to extend their unbeaten away run in the league to five matches.

Wednesday midfielder Chris Lines completed a loan move to MK Dons this week.
