Defensive poser for Charlton boss Karl Robinson

Charlton manager Karl Robinson faces a defensive injury crisis for the Sky Bet League One visit of Scunthorpe.

The suspended Jorge Teixeira joins the injured Harry Lennon (groin), Jason Pearce (groin) and Patrick Bauer (hip) on the sidelines, though there is hope that the latter could be available thereafter.

Robinson has regardless been boosted by the fitness of Lewis Page, striker Lee Novak - a timely return amid Josh Magennis' ankle injury - and the improved conditioning of Tony Watt and Ricky Holmes.

Club captain Johnnie Jackson remains a long-term absentee because of a hamstring injury.

Scunthorpe new-boys Craig Davies and Ivan Toney are pushing to feature as the Iron look to continue their promotion push at The Valley.

The influx of new players has come at a good time for boss Graham Alexander with Kevin van Veen ruled out of the trip to south-east London due to suspension.

David Mirfin came through a midweek friendly as he continues to recover from a foot injury but the game is likely to come to soon for him.

Conor Townsend, Scott Wiseman and Paddy Madden all remain sidelined due to injury.
