Pritchard worry for Addicks

Charlton boss Chris Powell will be without the services of midfielder Bradley Pritchard when they play host to Oxford.

Pritchard was dismissed for a lunging tackle during the Addicks' opening day defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday and will begina three-match ban.

Powell has hinted he may rest a number of his senior players with one eye already on a return to league action against Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Midfielders Danny Green and Dale Stephens are expectedto feature, while former Reading striker Simon Church should also make his full competitive debut for the club.

Oxford boss Chris Wilder will name a strong line-up as his U's side looks to build on a memorable opening day victory.

Wilder's men ran out 4-1 winners at Fratton Park and now head to The Valley looking to keep the feel-good factor aroundthe club going with a giant-killing in the Capital One Cup first round.

Their new-look strike force of Dave Kitson and Dean Smalley look set to be given the chance to build on their fledgling partnership against the SkyBet Championship outfit while the likes of James Constable, new signing Ryan Williams and Asa Hall look set to be involved again.

The last meeting between these sides came in this competition back in 2002 hen Oxford beat the Addicks 6-5 on penalties after a 0-0 draw.
