Wilson blow for Addicks

Charlton are without Lawrie Wilson for the visit of Ipswich.

The midfielder was booked for the fifth time this season during the 2-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and serves a one-match ban.

Boss Chris Powell told the club's official website: "I've lost Lawrie who has made a really big difference for us.

"We started off ever so well (against Wednesday) and created chances and he was at the hub of that. Sadly he will have a rest on Boxing Day."

But Powell will welcome back midfielder Dale Stephens, who has served his one-game ban.

Striker Ricardo Fuller, who scored Charlton's second in the 2-1 win at Portman Road earlier in the season, played the last half-hour at the weekend on his return from a hamstring injury and is pushing for a start.

Defenders Rhoys Wiggins (foot) and Cedric Evina (knee), midfielder Andy Hughes (Achilles) and striker Ade Azeez (hamstring) all remain sidelined.

Daryl Murphy is an injury concern for Ipswich.

The striker took a knock during Saturday's 1-1 draw at home to Bristol City and was forced off just before the hour mark.

He now faces a race against time to be fit for the clash at The Valley.

Fellow forward Paul Taylor is the only definite absentee with his long-term foot injury.

Midfielder Luke Hyam returned from a virus to make the bench against the Robins and can again expect to be involved in Mick McCarthy's matchday 18.

Town, with just one defeat in their last six, go into the game in 20th place in the Championship, two spots and five points behind their hosts.
