Peeters to rotate Addicks squad
Charlton manager Bob Peeters indicated he may rest some of his players for their Capital One Cup clash with Colchester ahead of a busy schedule.
The Addicks have league fixtures against Wigan and Derby on Saturday and Tuesday respectively and Peeters said it will give other members of the squad the opportunity to impress.
Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Igor Vetokele were two of the new boys to make an impression at Brentford at the weekend and he could allow them to recharge their batteries.
Winger Callum Harriott overcame an injury concern to come off the bench against the Bees and he may start the game at The Valley.
Colchester lost Craig Eastmond to a knee injury just over half an hour into Saturday's League One draw with Oldham but loan star George Moncur impressed on his debut off the bench and could feature more prominently in this clash.
Captain Magnus Okuonghae told U's Player: "He's literally like the energiser bunny - he just doesn't stop running, so it was a great performance from him and I'm sure he was happy to top it off with a goal.
"We showed great character for the first game of the season but there are things we can tidy up on. It's a very good draw, the boys are looking forward to it and hopefully we can go on a nice run."
Toisin Olufemi is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering an Achilles tendon injury in pre-season.
