Charlton sign Doherty
Former Norwich and Republic Of Ireland International becomes first signing of the summer. Charlton this morning announced the signing of Central Defender Gary Doherty on a two year deal. Doherty, who was released from Norwich at the end of last season, despite making 44 appearances and being named in the League One team of the season, becomes the first signing for the Addicks during the pre-season. The former Tottenham defender has played at every level in Football and, at 30 years old is seen by Phil Parkinson as being just the addition to the squad that we need to highlight that this will be another season challenging for promotion. Let's hope that we're able to make several more signings, all of whom are as accomplished as Doherty. Come on you Addicks!!
