Sodje hoping to play his part

Charlton will check on Sam Sodje ahead of the second leg of their play-off semi-final against Swindon.

The defender was feeling his persistent knee injury during Friday's 2-1 first-leg defeat at the County Ground but still managed to get through the full 90 minutes.

Miguel Llera remains on stand-by to deputise at centre-half if Sodje is ruled out.

Full-backs Grant Basey (ankle) and Kelly Youga (knee) are the only definite injury absentees.

Boss Phil Parkinson could make changes with his side chasing a goal to get back into the tie.

Therry Racon could drop out of midfield for the more attack-minded Kyel Reid, while veteran striker Nicky Forster is pushing for a recall up front.

Billy Paynter remains a major doubt for Swindon.

The club`s 26-goal leading scorer missed the first leg with a hamstring strain picked up in training on Wednesday while harmlessly playing a ball.

Manager Danny Wilson kept his cards close to his chest in the build-up to the encounter but admitted afterwards that Paynter is again struggling for the trip to The Valley, although he will give him as long as possible to prove his fitness.

Wilson also hinted at possible changes to bring some fresh legs into the tie with the two fixtures within 72 hours of each other, but they may well come as the encounter progresses on the night.

Striker Vincent Pericard was a surprise inclusion on the Town bench on Friday having initially been ruled out by his troublesome heel injury, and he can again expect a place in Wilson`s matchday 18.

Charlie Austin and Danny Ward are likely to continue in attack after grabbing the goals which have given Swindon their slender advantage.
