Addicks back on winning trail

Charlton strengthened their lead at the top of the table after securing their first win in four matches with a 3-0 win over Yeovil.

The Addicks raced into a seventh-minute lead in bizarre circumstances. Dany N'Guessan, signed on loan until the end of the season this week from neighbours Millwall, saw his cross from the right fly past Yeovil goalkeeper Sam Walker and land in the top corner.

Yann Kermorgant saw his header go just wide after the Addicks striker connected with Chris Solly's corner, while Rhoys Wiggins went even closer 10 minutes before the break, but his goalbound shot was put behind by Luke Ayling.

Addicks goalkeeper Ben Hamer made an excellent reaction stop to deny half-time substitute Bondz N'Gala, but it was the leaders who doubled their advantage on the hour.

Wiggins' free-kick was flicked on by Kermorgant and Bradley Wright-Phillips applied the final touch for his 21st goal of the season.

Yeovil substitute Lawson D'Ath hit the crossbar, but Darel Russell added a third and final goal for the table-toppers in the 90th minute by firing home from Wiggins' cross.
