The match is likely to take place on August 8 at the Fitness First Stadium and will mark the end of pre-season preparations for Phil Parkinson's men. The match will take place seven days before Charlton begin their League One campaign, in search of immediate promotion back to the Championship. Bournemouth successfully escaped relegation this season, finishing 21st in League Two despite being docked 17 points for exiting administration without a company voluntary agreement. The last time the two clubs met was a pre-season friendly in 2005 with Francis Jeffers, Darren Ambrose, Darren Bent and Matt Holland on target to help the Addicks run out 5-2 winners. Holland will be returning to Bournemouth where he made 100 appearances the club after joining from West Ham and Scott Wagstaff could also find himself returning to the Fitness First Stadium. The young winger spent a month on loan with Bournemouth this season, making six appearances for the club.
