Addicks appeal Semedo dismissal

Charlton have appealed against the red card shown to midfielder Jose Semedo against Bournemouth on Saturday. Semedo was dismissed for a challenge on Cherries striker Michael Symes during the second-half of Charlton's 1-0 win and faces a three-match ban. "All of the staff have looked at the challenge from every available angle, and if tackling is still part of the game - which I believe it is - then I'm not sure how Semedo could have gone into the tackle any fairer," said manager Phil Parkinson. "Jose slid in one-footed, and his first contact was with the ball. It would have been harsh even if he had received a yellow card, so a three-game suspension seems harsh to say the least."
