Appiah wants to take his chance

Recent Cesena signing Stephen Appiah is confident he can prove to be a success at the Serie A newcomers this term.

Despite a disappointing stint with Bologna last season, the 29-year-old wants to put his recent failings behind him and help his new employers stave off relegation back to the second-flight in Italy.

"I didn't play a lot of games for Bologna last season, but I'm hoping to get more playing time this season," he said.

"In training I've showed the coach that I'm ready to play and I feel good.

"I've had a difficult time in the last two years and I'm determined to put that behind me and enjoy my football again."
