Zaluska backs Levein for Hoops

The Polish keeper is set to complete his move to the Hoops, from United, at the end of June and would welcome the opportunity to continue working under his former boss. Numerous names have been linked with the vacant managerial post at Celtic since Strachan's shock departure at the end of the 2008/09 campaign. Levein is believed to be among those candidates, but the situation remains far from clear. Zaluska admits as much, fearing that his own future in Glasgow could be in doubt before he has even arrived. However, he believes that an approach to Levein from the Celtic board would be beneficial to all concerned. "It was a really big surprise for me when Gordon Strachan left Celtic," Zaluska said in the Daily Record. "Previously, it didn't seem there was any reason for him going so no one even speculated on the subject. I have to say I was pretty shocked. "Hopefully the new coach will be happy with the goalkeeping situation and won't feel he has to bring anyone else in. "Next season the club will have two good goalkeepers in Artur Boruc and me so won't need reinforcements in that position. "I got on well with Craig Levein and would be pleased if he were to get the job. "At this stage, though, I don't think any of the players have an idea who the next manager will be. "It seems like there are about 20 candidates as every day the papers have a different guy as favourite for the job. "There's lots of speculation but we'll just have to wait and see what happens."
