Young Bhoys unfazed by granite city challenge

Celtic rookie Josh Thompson is relaxed about the possibility of teaming up in defence with fellow teenager Thomas Rogne in Saturday's Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash with Aberdeen at Pittodrie. The departures of Stephen McManus and Gary Caldwell in January, in addition to injuries to Darren O'Dea and Jos Hooiveld, meant 18-year-old former Stockport County player Thompson again partnered Glenn Loovens in Wedneday night's 2-0 win over Hearts. After scoring the opener just after half time, Loovens picked up a hamstring injury which leaves him doubtful for the trip to the Granite City and was replaced by Rogne. The Norway Under-21 defender, who left Stabaek under freedom on contract, had a comfortable debut as the Bhoys narrowed the gap behind SPL leaders Rangers to eight points but is sure to be tested at Pittodrie."Thomas is a good player; I've seen him in training and he did well on Wednesday night," said Thompson. "He is prepared if he has to play so I don't think it is a problem."When you get on the pitch, age doesn't count, you've got a job to do. I think everyone knows their job, whether you play with one centre-back or the other, you train with them all so everyone knows what has to be done."
