Celtic full-back Mark Wilson will be sidelined until the end of October after breaking a foot in Wednesday's 3-2 Champions League defeat at Manchester United.
The 22-year-old former Dundee United defender has been told that he will be out of action for at least six weeks.
Wilson has already been ruled out of next month's Euro 2008 qualifier between Scotland and France.
He has been a regular in Gordon Strachan's first team since moving from Tannadice in January.
