Mark Wilson hopes to stay at Celtic and agree a new contract beyond the end of the current season.
The 26-year-old defender is awaiting news over whether he will be offered a new deal at Parkhead.
"I'd love to stay at this club," Wilson, who joined from Dundee United in 2006, said in the Evening Times. "But I'm in a bit of an unclear situation just now where the club have a right to terminate my contract at the end of the season."
He added: "There is an option in their favour where they can either extend my deal by a year or basically say get on your way.
"I've said many times previously I don't want to leave.
"I'd rather get it cleared up as soon as possible as I've got my family to think about."
