The Baggies are said to be interested in the striker, who moved to Celtic from Airdrie United in January of 2011. The 18-year-old scored twice within just seven minutes on his Celtic debut, which came as a second-half substitute against Motherwell last April. Watt has become part of Scotland's Under-21 squad, and his three Celtic goals this term have come in two of the three league games he has started for the Bhoys, but so far he has been content with starting most games on the bench.
"I want to play as much as I can this season but I am happy to do it from the bench if that is the case," he declared.
"This is such a big club you don't expect to start every game.
"I want to show the manager that I can play under him. He has given me a good chance at the biggest club in Scotland.
"I need to pay him back before I complain about not starting because to me the bench is good enough.
"I am a Celtic player, that is where I want to be so the speculation does not bother me. If the club wants to tie me down for the next couple of years then they can. I am happy to be here."
Watt, who came off the bench to score for Scotland's Under-21s in their win over Canada last week, is adamant that his form this season proves that his eye-catching Celtic debut was not a one-off. He said:
"At the start of the season the only reason I was in the team was because of a few injuries. But the gaffer must feel I have done well because he has moved me up the pecking order.
"I do not know if it has come quickly because I was on a high. However I hope I have shown that I'm not a one-hit wonder."
