Vermouth hopes to continue run

When the Europa League draw was made it was expected that Hamburg would win Group C with the Hoops and Rapid Vienna vying for second spot. However, Hapoel go in to the penultimate game at Celtic Park as shock leaders of the group with nine points from four games and they need only one more point to all but guarantee them qualification in to the knockout stages. Celtic, at the bottom of the table with two points, need to win their last two matches while hoping that Hamburg lose both of theirs but, speaking at the pre-match press conference at Parkhead, Vermouth was unconcerned at the plight of anyone else as he looked forward to clinching a qualification spot. "It was not expected for us to win games and it was not expected that we would proceed," he said. "It was expected that the other three clubs would be better but we are happy to be where we are. "We will go in to the game looking to win it, as we have done in every game. "That is our main objective but we expect a tough game. "When we beat Celtic 2-1 in In Tel Aviv obviously they did not play as well as they could but at Celtic Park, with the support of the fans, it adds a different dimension to the game. "We are aware that they will be better. "They will be 100 per cent motivated and they will want their first win in the competition." Hapoel coach Eli Gutman is hoping to secure qualification before the last fixture against Hamburg. He said: "We came here to complete the job and qualify. "We are expecting to play our game and if we play our game then hopefully we will score. "We know exactly what to expect. We know the British culture, we know what the reaction of the fans will be and we will do our best. "Although we came into the competition as underdogs and we are still seen as underdogs, you have seen already in this group that there are no favourites. "We have achieved good results and will strive to achieve another good result."
