The 19-year-old, player of the competition at the recent Toulon Tournament, has been linked with several clubs around Europe, including Spanish sides Atletico Madrid and Athletic Bilbao. But he has his sights set on a move to Britain, though Celtic and Rangers could face competition for his signature with Manchester City, Wigan and Ipswich also thought to be monitoring him. The Old Firm have the advantage of being able to offer Champions League football to a player rated at his club Cobreloa around the £1.5million mark. And Vargas told the Daily Record: "I really want to play in the UK because that could help me become the player I want to be. "I have seen the British game and admire the physical aspect of it." He added: "I am relishing the challenge of going to Scotland and becoming the first Chilean to make the grade. "Some people say South Americans can't play in Scotland and England but that's rubbish. "Now I just want the chance to come to Scotland and show how good I am."
