Trap allows Aiden to skip friendly

Republic of Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has confirmed Aiden McGeady will play no part in the clash against Argentina on Wednesday.[LNB] The Celtic winger has been given permission to miss the international friendly so he can finalise his club future.[LNB]Bhoys manager Neil Lennon revealed over the weekend that McGeady was on the verge of sealing a switch to Spartak Moscow after a long period of speculation about a possible move.[LNB]And Trapattoni has no problems with leaving out McGeady for the clash with Argentina in midweek.[LNB]"We let him go and make what he must do," said Trapattoni.[LNB]"Maybe he will go to Russia but at the moment he is not with us."[LNB]Trapattoni also confirmed Glenn Whelan and Sean St Ledger have been ruled out of the game through injury, while Marc Wilson, Caleb Folan and Shane Long are also unavailable.[LNB]Richard Dunne and Kevin Doyle are carrying knee and leg injuries respectively but Trapattoni added: "They are having scans to clarify their injuries but I think everything will be okay in the next 48 hours."
