Sung Yueng: I was a Larsson fan

The South Korea midfielder has been immersing himself in the history of Celtic since his move from FC Seoul was confirmed.[LNB]But the 20-year-old has had a long-standing admiration for Japan midfielder Nakamura, who joined Espanyol in the summer, and Larsson, who he watched on television while growing up in Australia as a teenager.[LNB]"I am really happy everything has been completed now," said Ki, who has 17 caps for his country.[LNB]"As soon as I signed a contract with Celtic I started to learn more and more about the club.[LNB]"When I lived in Australia I watched a lot of Champions League games and at that time Henrik Larsson was still playing for Celtic.[LNB]"I was a fan of his, but I am already trying to learn more about the club.[LNB]"I also used to watch Shunsuke Nakamura when I was young, especially when he played for Celtic and he did a great job for the club."[LNB]The Asian Young Player of the Year, whose contract could keep him at Celtic Park for up to four years, added: "This club is one of the biggest and best clubs in the world and I know that playing for Celtic will make me a better player."[LNB]Ki is eligible to play for Celtic from January 1 following his protracted transfer, which was completed eight days ago.[LNB]Celtic revealed that 90 journalists and more fans attended the presentation, with Parkhead chief executive Peter Lawwell also attending to mark the reported £2million transfer.[LNB]Lawwell said: "Today's event was a great opportunity for us to meet some of our new supporters.[LNB]"There has been a magnificent response through Ki's move to Celtic and we welcome these new Korean fans to the Celtic family.[LNB]"In difficult economic times for Scottish football, we are delighted to make this commitment and bring Ki to Scotland.[LNB]"In signing Ki, we are sure we will welcome a whole new audience to Celtic.[LNB]"However, we also welcome a new audience to Scottish football, something which we hope will positively raise the profile of the SPL and our game in general.[LNB]"This is something which proved very successful through the signing of players such as Shunsuke Nakamura previously and we are sure Scottish football will again benefit through this signing."[LNB][LNB]
