Strachan stunned at defeat
08 Dec 2008 - 08:23:06
Celtic manager Gordon Strachan admitted he was stunned after his side's 12-match winning league run was ended by a 2-0 defeat at Hibernian.
The Bhoys found that 13 was unlucky as a howler from goalkeeper Artur Boruc when he gifted John Rankin the opener and a second goal from Colin Nish secured the points for the Edinburgh club.
"I can't believe I'm sitting here talking about a defeat after the possession and the chances, (we had) and the lack of chances we restricted the other team to," said Strachan.
"But we have to accept that's what has happened."
However, Strachan refused to criticise an increasingly erratic Boruc despite the Poland keeper's latest blunder.
He added: "I think when you speak to players after the game, you keep that in the dressing room. So we will do that.
"There were a lot of pats on the back for a lot of the players.
"A lot of my players can get on the bus and say 'I gave it a good go today'."
