The Dutchman has scored in just one game this season and his contact is up in the summer.[LNB]After being dropped by the Hoops' boss for last week's Co-Operative Insurance Cup final win over Rangers at Hampden, the former PSV Eindhoven striker was dropped by Holland for next week's World Cup qualifier against Scotland in Amsterdam.[LNB]But Strachan is looking to exercise the option on Vennegoor of Hesselink's contract.[LNB]"Of course I want Jan here next year," he said.[LNB]"I want all my good players here.[LNB]"It's not really my task. I indicate who I want to stay and that's it.[LNB]"I'm the guy who wants him but if he wants 100 grand a week I'm not the guy who decides it in the end.[LNB]"But we like Jan here and want him as long as he enjoys it and can be part of things.[LNB]"The guys love him. We love him as coaches as well.[LNB]"Jan's ability won't go away.[LNB]"We all go through difficult periods. It's just about getting a couple of goals, that's all that is missing."[LNB][LNB] Dundee Utd v Celtic Hat Trick: Vennegoor, J. 40/1[LNB]
