Stokes sings Kayal's praises
Published : 02 May 2011 09:00:07
Anthony Stokes revealed the two sides to team-mate Beram Kayal after the Israel international capped another impressive display with the best goal of the game in Celtic's 4-1 home win over Dundee United.Hoops manager Neil Lennon described Kayal's display as "world class" after the midfielder's powerful drive from outside the box helped the Parkhead men move to within one point of Rangers at the top of the Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League.Gary Hooper's goal after 23 minutes gave the home side the interval lead and second-half strikes from Kayal, Kris Commons and substitute Daryl Murphy sealed the win while United substitute Johnny Russell grabbed a consolation for the Taysiders.Asked about the former Maccabi Haifa player, Stokes said: "Beram is a quiet lad but out on the pitch he looks like a man possessed at times."He is a great lad, great to have around the place and he has a bit of banter as well. He was outstanding against United. They had an extra man in midfield but you wouldn't have thought it with the way Beram and Scott Brown got round the pitch."Beram brings a great energy to the team and his passing is top notch as well. It was some strike for his goal and if he can chip in with a few more of them before the end of the season then it will do us no harm."
