Celtic manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that midfielder Aiden McGeady is set to travel to Russia later this week to discuss a possible transfer to Spartak Moscow.
The 24-year-old could move to the Russian capital in a £9.5million move despite signing a five-year deal with the Bhoys as recently as 2008.
McGeady sat out the Emirates Cup defeat against Arsenal on Sunday although he did feature in the 2-2 draw against Lyon 24 hours earlier despite struggling with a calf injury.
Boss Neil Lennon said: "He's in a difficult situation at the minute and I've been there myself towards the end of my time at Leicester and the interest from Celtic.
"Your head's all over the place and I think he's in that place at the minute. As regards the injury, I do believe he's genuine.
"Aiden doesn't fake injuries. He wants to play football and has always wanted to play football. I have to take his word on this one."
